Stuttering on 4K HDR10 HEVC

Isn’t that exactly what’s happening? Hence the stutter.

I just loaded it into avidemux as you can see.

Looking at the name on your screenshot you loaded @eagerbeaver sample not the one I posted.

Sample: http://www.mediafire.com/file/cbpgkrtkmctt6oj/watersample.rar/file

Rar pw: osmc

The thing is I have the identical file as he does but there is no glitch in my sample and there is in his.

That’s why I’m guessing his remux got somehow corrupted when he was creating it in his HDD/SSD

@grahamh I’ll send you a PM if I may

I meant that it’s simple for you to check your clip. I’m not going to investigate a video that works OK.

Sorry. Adding 2 more instances. 2 different videos. Same problem.

I think this is caused by the user playing through an NTFS volume, which will provide low throughput.

Any way to fix this? Defrag? Is this still being done nowadays?

Should I test on EXT4 first to confirm if this is the case?

Yes. I’ve watched Dunkirk with the same encoding and resolution and it played fine.

Tried tomb raider on EXT4. Same result. I remember this was working flawlessly on the 2018.08-1. I’ll try to downgrade and report back.

Nope. I was wrong. Downgraded to 2018-08.2 and it’s still like that.

Is there a log of this being played back from ext4?

Sam

I’ll get the logs for EXT4. It should take about 20 mins.

Cheers

Log of Tomb Raider in EXT4 partition

He needs to fix his audio settings. Enable passthrough for DTS and AC3.

Is this message for this thread?

Yes

Thanks to everyone. Sorry for sending you all on a wild goose chase. I can confirm now that the files themselves are corrupted. Special shout out to @k2u3 who caught this early on.
