TVDB2 unable to scrape / Movies files can't launch

Hi guys I have several issues since the last update 2015.12-4 for RPI2.

  1. I am not able to do a proper scrape of my tvshows using tvdb2, it hangs for a while then a message pops up saying “unable to connect to server, would you like to continue scanning?”
I then changed the scraper to MovieDB and it was able to detect most of my tv shows.
Any issue occured with tvdb2 recently?

  2. For the movies I am able to scrape them with MovieDB but once I try to launch them I got only the sound playing and a message at the top of the screen saying “added to playlist”, it does the same with mkv and mp4 files.

Thanks for your help.

[/quote]This isn’t an issue with OSMC as far as I know.

I noticed last night that Kodi running on my Mac was unable to scrape the TVDB as well.

So it’s likely to be an issue with the TVDB website which will either fix itself in due course, or it’s possible that the Kodi devs may need to push an update to the TVDB scraper if changes to the website necessitate it. (Which you will get automatically unless you have manually turned off automatic addon updating)

So you can’t play any videos or just certain ones ?

What codecs are the videos encoded with ? (Check with a program like MediaInfo)

TVDB switched servers last Friday and are having some issues with their new servers.
Nothing to do with OSMC at all.

Thank you. I will provide the video information tonight.
From what I remember I was trying to play mkv files (mpg x264) and regular mp4 files.

mkv and mp4 are just containers that can carry many different codec types. It’s the codecs that matter, not the containers.

Any H.264 video should play OK without any additional codec licenses.

Nothing to worry about.

Just tried to scan my tv shows folder again using TVDB but after 10 seconds of scanning I got the message "Couldn’t download information : Unable to connect to remote server.Would you like to continue scanning?
I will wait for a couple of days to see if the issue is still there.

Regarding the error while launching video file these are the logs

The information regarding the video file I tested are here

I don’t even know why I bothered to post links to threads on the official TVDB forums that clearly explain what is going on with the scraper.

I just saw the answer on page 4, still not very familiar with this forum.

According to the boffins @ The TVDB, service is restored.

It is still not working properly, I switched scraper for now. Will check next week.

Thank you.
