I have upgraded my megapi (pi in a mega drive 2 case) to a pi 2, i have installed osmc, then installed the hub wizzard, which hung at the end (appeard like it had crashed) after a hard reset everything was installed an in its respective places(using confluence skin). i then tried to get into omsc settings app, didn’t work!!! so i ssh’d in to the pi (which took me ages to find user and pass lol(osmc and osmc)) did an apt-get update, upgrade, and dist-upgrade which fixed the settings app. However my sony playtv usb dosn’t seem to be working, the firmware is in the repective place as i have checked with dmesg. not sure what is wrong but i can’t connect to the tvheadend web server to configure and osmc keeps popping up connection lost to tvheadend htsp client. i have no idea where to go from here so any help would be appreciated!!
i’m not familiar with sony playtv, but for my iprtv broadcast i had to install hts tvheadend.
sudo apt-get install hts-tvheadend.
i have just tried installing this and i get an unable to locate package error
Have you run
sudo apt-get update
Before you tried installing the package?
yes several times lol
Looks like it’s called: xbmc-pvr-tvheadend-hts
https://packages.debian.org/jessie/xbmc-pvr-tvheadend-hts
But I have no idea if it will break anything, so install at own risk.

Is what mine says if I try to run that
sudo apt-get install packagename --no-install-recommends
This would probably be the best bet… All those x11 depends aren’t going to do anything for you on rPi.
ok so found this page AptRepositories - Tvheadend
i have installed tvheadend, gave it a username and password, i can now get into the backend and see both tuners, now to figure out how to set it up
ps i uninstalled the addon in kodi first.
i got this output
osmc@osmc:~$ sudo apt-get install tvheadend

All up and running
usefull site <Stuff about="code" />: Raspbmc - Setup Live TV & PVR
also i needed to add the osmc user into access control before it worked
Sorry, I forgot to say, that I added deb:
open sources.list
sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list
add the following line (I added wheezy dist):
deb Index of /stable/ wheezy main
save file and add key:
curl http://apt.tvheadend.org/repo.gpg.key | sudo apt-key add -
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install hts-tvheadend
Adding wheezy deb’s to the jessie install can probably cause issues, so that is not recommended.
It worked for me…
Hi mr_liss
could you please give a small tutorial on how you got the PS-TV tuner up and running with the Pi 2 please I would love to get mine up and running! I am a bit of a Linux Dumb Bunny!!!
install Sony PlayTV on OSMC Quick Guide:
SSH to box
cd /lib/firmware/
sudo wget http://linuxtv.org/downloads/firmware/dvb-usb-dib0700-1.20.fw
sudo nano /etc/apt/sources.list
add the following line (I added wheezy dist):
deb Index of /stable/ wheezy main
save file and add key:
curl http://apt.tvheadend.org/repo.gpg.key | sudo apt-key add -
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install tvheadend
during the tvheadend install you need to add a user name and password
I used OSMC OSMC
sudo reboot
Once the Pi is back up you can configure the tvheadend from a browser on the same network
I used the following guide to configure:
http://kodi.wiki/view/Tvheadend_PVR
Once this is complete you need to enable the LiveTV in KODI again with the same link above
I’ve been looking ALLLLLL over for this god dammed firmware lol
SAAMMMMM can you please please please include it in your OSMC build… ppleeeesssee
I’ve done all the above and also added as I am running a Rasp Pi 2 with OSMC Alpha 4
sudo apt-get install hdhomerun-config
sudo apt-get install libhdhomerun-dev
I can query the Hdhomerun on my device and it shows up, but it does not show up in the tv tuner gui dropdown on Tvheadend. Any thoughts? I am sure I missing something simple.
Alpha 4 is deprecated. RC has been released. You’ll need to re-install to get to the RC upgrade path that we hope will carry on through Final.
In short, we can no longer provide support for Alpha 4 builds, sorry.
Thanks rpersak, you method worked for me using an August T205 TV tuner on OSMC alpha4. Just had to change the last line to “sudo apt-get install tvheadend”. Works great!
