UHD playback not working anymore after fresh reinstall

Hi there,

I’ve been using a vero4k since 2017 - to play content from a local emby mediaserver (connected via LAN), using passthrough to play HD-Audio on a Denon AVR (x1300w).
The vero has been playing every format I throw at it in the past year.

After running in some issues with the Leia Update, I thought it would be a good idea to do a clean new install, as the system is not very customizied any easy to re-setup anyway. So i did a fresh (Leia) install from USB, resulting in the same problems with UHD playback.
As i have some vacation days next month i decided to postpone debugging for now and roll back to a clean install of version 2018.12 (which has been working flawlessly until the update).
Surprise - same problems with UHD content
So it seems like this is not related to the Leia update, but some config piece i’ve had before and is now missing.

The issue seems to only affect UHD content - tested with a movie I know was working before.
I only see a mix of stuttering video and black screens and the AVR does not switch to the correct audio.
If i set “adjust refresh rate” to OFF instead of Start/Stop, playback is working fine (at 1080p GUI resolution) including HD audio passthrough.

To rule out this being related to the emby addon, i’ve also tried to play the same file directly over smb and nfs - same result.
I also tried bypassing the AVR, connecting directly to the TV - video was still stuttering and full of white artifacts (no audio as the TV does not support HD audio passthrough).

I’ve uploaded a debug log here: http://paste.osmc.tv/nuqayevezi

Any idea what i could be missing?

Thanks!

Have you tried another HDMI cable?

It may also help to limit chroma sampling to 422 under Settings -> Display.

Sam

Thanks for the quick help! That checkbox did the trick.
Cheers
