I was getting the sad face error and decided to do a fresh install and now I seem to either get a blank screen without any signal at all or the OSMC logo will appear followed by what appears to be command prompt text (sorry if that’s an inaccurate way to describe it). The systems seems to crash in the process and try to boot again for a few minutes before just going blank.
Did you follow the instructions for troubleshooting in the banner post on Krypton v17 updates pinned to the top of every user’s forum page here?
I ended up using a different power source. I had a micro USB with the TV powering the Raspberry Pi before but now it’s plugged into an outlet. Seems to be working fine now.
