I am sorry, I read the post, but it seemed more like an problem outside OSMC, so I assumed a log would not be needed. On the other hand, a little more information would have been nice: Was there a problem with the update server? Do I have the latest version and there nothing more to do? This could have been answered easily with the information I provided…
Well, OSMC updated normaly this morning and I am on version 2016.02-4 now, thank you anyways.

This has happened to me several times before. I’m pretty sure it’s because I leave the unit running and it tries to auto update but nobody is there to tell it yes. So it eventually times out and gives the fail message. Dunno if that’s what’s happening to you or not.
so check the apt log… instead of just saying it happened and i dont know why it happened …
I leave my unit running, too. Maybe you are right, but I got the same error when I did a manual update…

I’m running OSMC 2016-02-03 on a Raspberry Pi 3. I just installed OSMC on my Raspberry Pi using the osmcinstaller so this issue occurred on a fresh install on a RP3. I first ran into this issue when OSMC tried to update for the first time. I have a Monitor connected through an HDMI cable, a USB-connected external hard drive, a FLIRC chip, and a wired keyboard.

You need to explain this in detail. If it’s not working, what is it doing instead?
Probably hanging at updating add-ons. The Krypton primer will help.

Where apt logs are located?
provide the URL from either grab-logs -a (apt logs) or grab-logs -A (all logs)
I read about versions 2016 used again at today… why continue to use versions so old? This can be the cause of these problems? I’m on “Running on Open Source Media Center 2017.02-2, kernel: Linux ARM 32-bit version 4.4.27-7-osmc” and i don’t see any problems during check for update/upgrade…

Can you please say what exactly is your current problem? Or was it just the update error you wanted to report?
If that is the case can you run
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
And report if you get an error?
