VC1 video playback on RPI4

Hello,

I recently changed my raspberry pi 2 by a raspberry pi 4. On my old RPI2 I had the VC1 license and the playback of VC1 videos was normal (these are old bluray movies with high bitrate). On the RPI4 I can’t purchase any license and even with the hardware acceleration turned on my videos struggled and it’s not smooth.
Is there any other options that can help or I have to encode my files in another format ?

Raspberry Pi 4 doesn’t license codec packs anymore.

Unfortunately I believe VC-1 decode is still single threaded, so the Pi won’t be able to handle this.
