Hello!
I just realized some kind of strange behavior of my Vero 4k+. I added a music-video, but Vero doesn’t play it. All the other players on my PC (Windows-Player, VLC, MPC) play it without any problem. So I wanted to take a look into the log to see what’s going on. Then I realized that I cannot reach the Vero via Putty, FileZilla and to ping it doesn’t work as well. So I face the strange situation that the Vero plays all videos from my NAS with the exception of that one music-video, but is not reachable from my PC. All of them are within the same IP domain (192.168.1.xxx). All other devices in my network are reachable via PC. A reboot of the Vero 4k+ did not help.
Any idea what I can do?
Kind regards!

So, did you check the Vero’s current IP address looking at GUI->Settings->System info->Network ?
Good question, and you’re right, the IP address was changed. Which is strange, because all my devices have fixed IP-addresses. Same with the other Vero.
How can I convince the Vero to accept a certain IP-address? I didn’t find any way in Kodi to manually set up the network connection.
BTW, the music video I mentioned did not play because of special characters in the file name . When I replace “déjà vu” by “deja vu” it works. I was not aware that Kodi cannot deal with special characters.

There are two main methods: either set a fixed IP address on the Vero4K+ in MyOSMC > Networking or configure the Vero4K+ to obtain its address from the router, using DHCP. If using DHCP, you then need to configure the router to supply the IP address, based on the MAC address of the Vero4K+.
