Vero 4K shutsdown regularly

My Vero 4K unit has been shutting down pretty much since I got it a few years ago but it was like every other month so I didn’t pay it so much attention. But recently it’s started happening every few days. I’ve experimented a bit and it happens more frequently when I have my USB HDD connected but other than that I have no clues.

I have uploaded my logs here: http://paste.osmc.tv/rumapeqane

Can anyone point me in the right direction here?

Do you have the hdd connected directly to the vero or is it connected through a powered hub ?

You should definitely connect it through a powered usb hub and not directly.

Anything bigger than a thumb drive most likely pulls too much power and makes it unstable if connected directly

The HDD has its own power source.

Can you enable debugging logging, reproduce the issue and upload the logs.

Something is forcing a shutdown.

I see a few things.

First, you don’t have Adjust Refresh Rate set to Start/stop as we normally recommend.

The major thing I see is a banned repository, and the last thing in the log is:

2020-06-15 21:47:33.049 T:4064239616 DEBUG: CPythonInvoker(5, /home/osmc/.kodi/addons/plugin.video.fantastic/fantastic.py): script termination took 69ms

And that is from the banned repository. I’d suggest removing that, changing the refresh rate and see if that helps.

Thanks for that. I’ve applied those two suggestions. Now it’s the waiting game.
