Hi All. I have a Vero V and have a slight issue with it. I use an Rii i8 remote and it suddenly stopped working. I redid the pairing, tried with the actual Vero remote and no joy, they wouldn’t work at all. Rebooted and unplugged the Vero a number of times, same result. So I found a thread here related to using the other USB to connect a HDD, which I also have in my setup, which is connected via a powered USB hub. The remote dongle was in the USB port nearest the front of the Vero, HDD hub into the one toward the rear. I switched them round and this seems have resolved the issue. However, I then got sketchy response from the remote, I’m guessing because the connector for the HDD hub is in the way. Fyi I’m 3m away from the Vero. To check this I’ve used a USB extender for the remote dongle and this seems to have resolved the issue. I’ve swapped them round again and with the remote dongle in the front USB, the remote(s) won’t work. I was wondering why this might have happened. Thanks.
Edit; just to add that I also tried both remotes on a Vero 4K and they worked fine.
This sounds like a failed USB hub inside the Vero V.
To get a better understanding of the problem you are experiencing we need more information from you. The best way to get this information is for you to upload logs that demonstrate your problem. You can learn more about how to submit a useful support request here.
Depending on the used skin you have to set the settings-level to standard or higher, in summary:
-
enable debug logging at settings->system->logging
-
connect the Rii i8 dongle to the blue (!) usb port of the Vero V
-
reboot the OSMC device twice (!!!)
-
upload the log set (all configs and logs!) either using the Log Uploader method within the My OSMC menu in the GUI or the ssh method invoking command grab-logs -A
-
publish the provided URL from the log set upload, here
Thanks for your understanding. We hope that we can help you get up and running again shortly.

Hi Jim, thanks for the reply. Yeah now I’ve read the other similar posts that’s my feeling too. It’s just over 2 years old. Will go through your post but my tech ability is pretty low compared to most of you guys, and I won’t have the time to do any of it until Friday so will hopefully have some more info for you then. Thanks again. p.s. no I won’t be taking it apart
Well that was much easier than I thought. Here’s the info….

The internal usb 2.0 hub is missing in your logs. This means that only USB 3.2 devices will work in the blue USB port located closest to the front. The right usb port is not affected.
I suggest to contact support@osmc.tv along with your order number and point to this thread. I don’t know what Sam intends for out of warranty cases. Be warned that @sam_nazarko is on a business travel for a week, so it could last some time until he’ll react.
Please, don’t open the box otherwise, you will lose any warranty and goodwill.
Will do, thanks for your help.
