Video Freezes But Audio is Normal

Hi. Ran into videos x265 1080p where video freezes on the first frame, but audio continues playing normally. Then after around 15-20 seconds the screen would show the next still picture on the screen all while audio is playing normally. The Vero isn’t locked so I can skip forward, stop, etc. Using Vero 4K+ with 2020.03-1 firmware.

Does this happen every time on the same videos?

I have seen this every once in a while, but stopping and starting the video again fixes it, and it doesn’t seem to be fixed to a few specific videos…it appears to be random.

yes. everytime. tried it on libreelec 8.2.5 (kodi 17) and it works fine.

Which community build of LibreELEC are you running on the Vero?

NVM, I realised you’re probably testing LE on a Pi. It won’t be an exact like for like comparison duetothe hardware differences.

Can you test it on the 4.9 builds?

actually using wetek hub (s905) LE 8.2.5 official kernel 3.14.29. Build: kodi 17.6 Git:a9a7a20. compiled Apr 13 2018

Hi Sam. Different outcome on the 4.9 kernel. It buffers while screen showing the OSMC logo animation. No audio too. Only a timer that shows it’s playing.

Okay. We have some improvements for buffering that will be made available soon. It may be fixed when we make those changes available
