Hello to everyone and I am really sorry if my question is already answered. In that case please redirect me.
I want to buy a Wi-Fi usb dongle for my raspberry pi2 which is used as a media center with OSMC. Currently I have these options in a local store (I don’t want to mess with internet orders, because I am in a hurry).
a. TP-LINK TL-WN725N 150MBPS WIRELESS N NANO USB ADAPTER v2
b. EDIMAX EW-7811UN SUPER MINI WIRELESS DRAFT N 150MBPS
c. TP-LINK TL-WN823N 300MBPS MINI WIRELESS N USB ADAPTER
I want something that works right out of the box, because I have no Linux knowledge.
If there is something else that you could suggest to me it is acceptable, considering that my local store only sells tp-link, D-link, edimax, ASUS.
Thank you in advance.
I have used the Edimax USB WiFi adapter for years with Raspbmc/OSMC. No problems. Hope that helps.
To be honest it is quite hard to give 100% advice on the topic as there always different revisions of the same USB dongle which might have changed in a way that the chipset is not supported.
Generally you could do a search on the internet about support of the dongle by debian jessie that should give a good indication about the support by OSMC.
I have the EDIMAX EW 7811UTC really like this little guy fast und supports 5Ghz
Thank you all for your time! I went to buy the edimax, but unfortunately it wasn’t in stock at the time, so I bought TL-823N instead which was available at the moment. First impressions : It worked out of the box in osmc and in fedora, raspbian, openelec as well (I haven’t tried it yet in other distros).
