The plan is to get 4.9 building (and available for testing) early this week. You are indeed correct that support was introduced in 4.9; there are so many DACs it is hard to keep track of all of the new ones now.

Hi, I have updated OSMC to the latest May release but the Allo Boss Dac is still not listed in the hardware support - soundcard overlay. I could see Allo piano and few other dacs but not Boss, can any user help regarding this and provide information on how to activate the sound card…thanks in advance …Regards Maverick_SS
I believe you can do it via config.txt. We only list the most popular DACs
