Anyone know how to install Bazarr (companion to Sonarr/Radarr)

Correction: Docker doesn’t (or didn’t) work on the Vero4K’s 4.9 kernel, which has not yet been released.

It looks like the link to the reinstall article isn’t working

Hi,

This has been fixed, the link is now working.

Tom.

I’ve made a clean install of OSMC, unfortunately bazarr keeps in this weird loop again of trying to start and installing dependencies when I try to start it, just as before.

I’ve uploaded logs at: https://paste.osmc.tv/sexuvipuja

Please show the output when you try to run it.

The output:

osmc@osmc:~$ cd /opt/bazarr
osmc@osmc:/opt/bazarr$ python3 bazarr.py

I’m not sure what root means in this context but if it means the root user, then that might explain why it’s not installing the requirements correctly. Is the code owned by osmc:osmc?

I’m not sure either, I’m always logged in as the normal osmc user, and the bazarr folders and files are also owned by osmc.

I took a look at the install instructions. Did you remember to run point 3?

Install Python requirements using python3 -m pip install -r requirements.txt

Thanks, yes I did. It had a lot of red failed messages in it. I ran it again, this is the output:

      - `pip install .` (from a git repo or downloaded source

I took the time to re-read the whole thread. I think you might need to install the package python3-dev:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install python3-dev

Then try re-running the pip install command and see if it helps.

Thanks for taking the time to help me with this trivial stuff man, I really appreciate it. I did the thing you asked, but it doesn’t seems to help:

Like I said before, go on their discord and they’ll talk you through the install

We’ll crack it. I just noticed that you haven’t installed the build-essential package. This is such a basic package that I (incorrectly) assumed that it would have been there if you’re trying to build anything. So:

sudo apt-get install build-essential

(NB not build-essentials.)

Thanks, should this be done before anything else? Because after installing the build essential package python3 -m pip install -r requirements.txt still gives errors, and running Bazarr still keeps it in a loop.

Edit: The guy on the discord recommends doing it via the docker way, is this possible on the vero 4k+?

Installing build-essential should allow you to build and link programs.

Let’s try one step at a time. Try running pip3 install numpy and post the output.

The output:

osmc@osmc:~$ pip3 install numpy

`setup.py clean` is not supported, use one of the following instead:

    - `git clean -xdf` (cleans all files)

Try pip3 install wheel

That installed successfully! Bazarr wont start just yet though, what should I try next?

Wouldn’t it maybe be better, in my case, to install Coreelec on the Vero 4k+? Everything can be installed simply via a kodi addon repository on that one, or am I thinking too simply now? I recently configured an ODROID N2+ for someone and everything can be installed right away when you use Coreelec.
