Pi2 truggles with Hardware encoding and MMAL disabled. If MMAL is enable it will work fine or alternatively it plays fine with Software encoding enabled.

Maybe @popcornmix you can check this but it seems to be an issue encoding via hardware or software when the file is HD 1080. I think I got this to play fine with MMAL enabled.
So, I guess overall MMAL seem to be the common denominator. Different files require or don’t require MMAL enabled which is a little frustrating.
@popcornmix I have also copied the above files to a USB stick and mounted it directly to the the Pi2 to rule out a network issue - just to be sure from my end. Files exhibit the same “issues”.
I’ve had to stop letting the Pi2 encoding the files for the time being.
Looking forward to trying nightlies once they become available for OSMC via the settings add on.
You’ll never play 1080p without hw acceleration.
Both Hunted and Tinker Bell samples play well for me with Isenguard build with either omxplayer or MMAL.
