That makes sense. I should have thought of that when I was testing everything, but I know at least a couple times I had no more than a USB keyboard and mouse plugged in, and I’m using the power supply that came with the Canakit. I guess the power supply is as likely to be defective as the board. Thanks for the suggestion.
It’s recommended to have a 2.5A power supply for the Pi3. I’ve seen a few kits that offered 2A (not Canakit though that I’m aware of). 2A was fine for the Pi2. I guess some sellers just cleared out the power supplies they had once the Pi3’s came out.
The power supply should have the specs written on it. Wouldn’t hurt to check to validate that it’s 2.5A just to be sure.

I have the same problem however my pi3B+ is running on 2.5A
