Let me give you all the biggest facepalm i have… I misread the label and, indeed, I did plug a 12V into the 5V. Definitely a highly stupid move…! Sorry about that.

Hi all,
just had the same problem half an hour ago. A loud bang and a bright flash (while watching Chernobyl - Thought the Russians were attacking), light went off and now my power supply just looks like the pictures above - same resistor.
Fortunately the box seems to run fine so far.

I’m pretty sure that there is no warranty on the box anymore (I bought it used 1.5 years ago). If you want to have the power supply you can have it. Otherwise i’ll dispose it.
I already ordered a USB to DC Cable for using one of my USB chargers.
