Cannot connect to osmc share from windows 10, the user name or password is incorrect System error 1326

I could reply earlier as I was a new user. I tried all of that and re-installed. And also my /etc/Samba folder only contains a tls folder and no conf files.

I may just re-install OSMC from scratch :frowning:

Before doing that I’d suggest that you test the SD card. Problems like this are a possible sign of a failing SD card.

Will do. Thanks

Any success? Because I get exactly the same error today.
I can not believe two SD cards might fail in the same places, generating the same errors… What do you think, @bmillham?

I think you need to provide more information. Logs would be a good place to start.

Here we are:

That’s not a log.

To get a better understanding of the problem you are experiencing we need more information from you. The best way to get this information is for you to upload logs that demonstrate your problem. You can learn more about how to submit a useful support request here.

Depending on the used skin you have to set the settings-level to standard or higher, in summary:

  • enable debug logging at settings->system->logging

  • reboot the OSMC device twice(!)

  • reproduce the issue

  • upload the log set (all configs and logs!) either using the Log Uploader method within the My OSMC menu in the GUI or the ssh method invoking command grab-logs -A

  • publish the provided URL from the log set upload, here

Thanks for your understanding. We hope that we can help you get up and running again shortly.

Brian, thanks for the detailed information. I’ll be back ASAP.

@bmillham, done:

Logs available at https://paste.osmc.tv/repegososo

In MyOSMC do you have ‘Wait for Network’ enabled?

This is curious:

May 13 02:05:45 osmc connmand[316]: eth0 {add} route 212.227.81.55 gw 192.168.1.1 scope 0 <UNIVERSE>

What is that IP address?

“Wait for Network” was not enabled. Enable? Reboot?
I can not say just now what that IP address is.

Yes, reboot.

The IP appears to be in Germany.

May be it’s something like trakt.tv?

So did you enable ‘Wait for Network’ and reboot? Did that fix the problem?

I found it. Something I’ve never noticed before. It’s connman.

No, the problem is not fixed after enabling and rebooting.

Can you show us the output of:

cat /etc/samba/smb-shares.conf
cat /etc/samba/smb.conf

@bmillham, I can’t. After the first installation my /etc/samba folder looked just as it is described above. Now I removed /samba folder and it is absent at all.

Linux is case sensitive, so /etc/Samba is wrong. It’s /etc/samba.

What happens if you try:

sudo apt install --reinstall smb-app-osmc
