Run shutdown -h now first, or power off via Kodi’s power menu, then it’s safe to pull the plug.
I have 2 ATV1s and I just keep them on 24/7… they’re already so old that I figure if they die, they’ll just die anyway.
I’ve run them like this continuously for over 5 years, no issues.
