It took it more than 2 hours to start the server… I’ve tried to load the windws server map which is liek 12mb… Something wrong here:

So, there’s a thing in the forum, to avoid spammers I would say, was blocking my messages saying - you’ve reached your max for the first day :slight_smile:

So I can give my update just now. I can confirm that this tutorial still works very well. I went back to your post from yesterday on installing java from the file downloaded on a different machine, and that worked like a charm. I was facing an issue where it would take for ever (2/3 hours) to start the server, and then would fail as soon as it started, and that got solved with installing the java version you pointed yesterday @joakim_s, thanks!

All the other steps to get the server to automatically boot when the machine starts/reboots, and accessing screen and all of that, works great.

The only thing not working from the original tutorial is the plugins, both don’t work at all, links dead. Not essential to get it to work but reading the names (remove lag) I was interested on them.

So far, performance is good, tried only with 2 users, and runs fine, processor and memory around 50%, even with kodi playing live tv and a different machine playing a file shared by this rp. My only concern is the heat, it’s on 54 degrees at the moment, not sure if that’s not too high.

Anyway, thanks for all the support @joakim_s, your tutorial is great.

The pi will begin throttling for self protection at about 84 degrees. 54 is fine.

One question: how can I reset the world and create a new one? I have tried to delete the “world” folder, but then I restart the server and it exits without creating a new world. Do you have any idea?

Should be as easy as that removing world folder, might be some file right issues. Try starting minecraft manually with:

sudo /opt/scripts/startMC.sh

If it was file rights it should create a new world now, then stop the server and start it again via

/opt/scripts/minecraftstarter.sh

Out of curiosity…lets say i do all the above and i want to run PaperSpigot instead…after all of the above is done, i just download the latest PaperSpigot-latest.jar and change this startup line to:

java -Xms256M -Xmx320M -jar PaperSpigot-latest.jar nogui ?

Also, i cant find any info if this (either spigot or paperspigot) support Bukkit Plugins, do you know ?

Never tried paper-spigot, but spigot supports bukkit plugins. Willl try paper if you got a link for me.
