Again, thanks for all this info. I’m sure I’ll be able to find something that works for me in the options you’ve offered. If not, I can always come back and ask some more specific questions when I know exactly what my problems are. So all I need now is some time to get the new system set up! Hopefully the Easter weekend might give me a chance to at least make a start.

Finally finished getting everything set up and working last weekend. Much improved user experience with the Pi 3B+ of course, but too early to tell whether it has cured the original intermittent crash problem. Let’s hope so - I’m optimistic. Anyway, I’d like to thank @darwindesign for his help and guidance through this issue and indeed all at OSMC for the time and effort they put into the development and support of this software. A small donation to the project to show my appreciation is on its way!
