I’ve check the cabling as best I may, swapped out a semi-smart switch that wouldn’t set/report flow control status. If I stick a Windows device at either end of the network, Windows iperf3 reports essentially perfect network transmission.
On the Raspberry Pi side, I have concluded that I can’t believe the iperf3 reports. If I just use replay as the benchmark, I seem to have elimenated most (or time may suggest all) of my freezes and returns to the menu by overclocking to Turbo, having force-turbo on (in the GUI) and setting smsc95xx.turbo_mode=Y in cmdline.txt. If I unset any of these three options, I’m back to freezes and returns to the menu.
None of the “normal” OSMC PI’s are powered via POE (however two of the Raspbian Pis were using POE convertors).
