Hi again,

I checked the file furthermore and “mkvmerge --identify” returns an error due too the Attachment field (value meta).
So clearly this file is not 100% correct, although it does play with VLC or other players. I suspect this could be why Kodi stops.

Anyway this an old encoding of mine so I will have to fix it. Hopefully it looks I do not have more of them.

I leave it to you if you want to work on how Kodi/osmc is dealing with this case of slightly incorrect mkv.

Are you sure it is the video file and not the nfo or one of the jpg/s in this movies folder causing the issue?

Yes I am sure, I had the same doubt and I did one test not copying the nfo, jpg nor poster and fanart. And it created the freeze/restart.

It sounds to me that FFMPEG or whatever is used does not like this mkv structure when scanning it to display the duration, video and audio codecs etc… at the bottom of the GUI.
