Movie scraper doesn't work with some files

I would try moving the file to a folder Kodi isn’t scraping before using the clean library function, then moving it back and carrying out a library update.

I would also suggest making sure there’s no other files in that movies folder like a .nfo file that you may have inadvertently placed there when you “ripped” the movie

I’ve tried both ways, cleaning up library then update, nothing has changed. The only way to make scraper working properly is to place the nfo file like they have suggested me before.
I’m gonna scan one of the “rip” with mediainfo on Mac, I’ll copy the output soon

So, wherever these rips come from, the creator burned this movie name tag into it.

I think, you could try to scan these files with

settings->media->videos->extract video information from file = OFF

or find a way to eliminate these tags.
In any case you should rename the file to some tmdb-friendly title.

So mystery solved? Why Kodi doesn’t let me input a manual string to search?
If I turn turn off that options, does Kodi continue to give me information about the file, like codec, length, audio etc?

Ivan, I fear not … but we are here now within kodi mediacenter dealing with files downloaded somewhere …
I suggest you find a tool which can wipe out this “movie name” tag or try the way suggested.

Why not just open the file in mkvtoolnixgui, delete the File Title on the output tab and remux the file and be done with it.

for example …

Sorry guys, maybe you don’t understand my intent. I really don’t care about this issue, I’ve only noticed this strange behavior from Kodi and I’ve though that maybe was something to be fixed. If it’s normal I’ll put the nfo file that works well, it’s not a big deal!

The issue seems to be some problem with the scraper correctly identifying your clearly pirated files. It really seems more odd to me that you are the only pirate on our forums with the issue, because I’m quite sure that there are a significant number of pirates using OSMC/Kodi who have yet to report anything similar here. If you don’t care about the issue, we’re not concerned either… Enjoy your Vero!

Ok I got it, I don’t think the issue is related to the source of the file but with a strange way to act when the metadata is wrong. Thank you anyway for your consideration, was not my first intent to turn this thread into an ethical discussion about piracy, sorry for than. The issue still remains, just change the “scene” name with anything else… Like a wrong named legit rip
