Thank you everyone for the help.
I knew from the Kodi forums that I could have bought similar hardware for a cheaper price but I chose to pay a bit more for the support OSMC offers and in my first couple of days of owning the Vero 4K everyone here has proved that was a wise choice.
Now I have my box running as I want it to I must say its a great little device and I’ll have no hesitation recommending it in the future

Extra bit of info for others reading this if you are trying to use hostnames when access Win10 SMB share … I found today that using all lowercase name reported a protocol error but changing Kodi to use an all UPPERCASE hostname for the Win10 machine worked immediately.
