NFS and october update

Perhaps a misunderstanding. I was directing my question to SOA_IT.

As to your NFS problem, NFS is core technology in *nix systems and is usually pretty reliable, so I’m inclined to think that the problem is more likely to be outside of NFS, possibly in Kodi itself.

No problem, I was wrong to understand… Comunque with June it goes perfectly and for now I will stay here… In the future we will see, and above all we will see if anyone has similar problems!

Hi, @dillthedog
I didn’t read the read-only part you quoted, my bad!

Hi @bmilam,
In my network and with my file server (a Xeon E3 with 32GB of ram and 12 HDD) the async speedup over sync is visible. All my network is gigabit (with jumbo frames) and I have no packet collisions or bad packets.
I would never use UDP instead of TCP to transport data…

Comunque? You are italian too…

Conventional wisdom says that it shouldn’t speed up read operations, though writes should be faster. So do you also notice faster reads on your system?
