after more tests, I can confirm that just like OP, on my Vero4K the transfer speeds are slowing down with time.
If I reboot the unit, the speeds goes up to 300+mbit. after some time, it goes down to 70-80 or less, just as in previous tests (see above).
I did tests with rebooting separately the Vero4K, the router, the Mac, and the switch. the speeds are always constant and solid except with the Vero4K.
I can’t say after how much time this happens. let’s say after one day it slows down, maybe earlier.
any solutions?
Still a reality for me.
I swapped cables, and I even got a new cable modem from my isp and took my router out of the loop, unplugged and reseated the usb gigabit adapter, but when I start seeing my transfer speeds bog down to the 1MB/s type speeds, a reboot of vero brings it back up to 15-21MBps, but the usually evens out around 6-10.
Holidays and work have been very busy for me with year end as well, so I hope to have more time this weekend.
Cheers
I waited one day since the last Vero4K reboot.
I just did an iperf test and got slow speeds:

then I unplugged and replugged the gigabit adapter on the Vero4K and did the test again:

[ 4] 0.00-10.00 sec 92.0 MBytes 77.2 Mbits/sec receiver
so there’s no difference, I guess.
I then rebooted the Vero4K, and got good speeds again:

I love my Vero4K but this is frustrating.
Is there any way to solve this? Or is there some kind of replacement procedure with the new Vero4K+? maybe a discount or something?
thanks
My guess is that it’s a driver issue; but I don’t have a USB Ethernet adapter, or any way of guaranteeing I’d receive one with a similar chipset.
There was some discussion about this the other day; but it’s lower on the list for now.
Sam
we’re talking about a 10€ adapter.
you could easily get one and try to see where the problem is – maybe it’s easier than we think.
what about gigabit performance on the Vero4K+? is it consistent, solid and fast?
I definitely plan to pick one up; but it may be difficult for me to get one with the same chipset as you (which could impact my ability to reproduce the issue).
You will get 930Mbps (TX and RX) in the real world. The Ethernet is connected directly to the SoC (it does not go through USB); so you will get the full speeds consistently.
then get mine Anker AK-A7522012
