Ok, you are on the testing version which might be part of the issue. I suggest we continue this trouble shooting in the TESTING thread.
Please provide in that thread output of:
ls -lah /etc/samba/ | paste-log
smbclient -L localhost
paste-log /etc/samba/smb.conf

Rebooted was needed for usb drives to appear.
