This advice makes sense either if you understand it is a Kodi issue or don’t. It’s simply the right advice 
I think there was a distinction being lost with how you were reading bmillham’s post. He was not saying that you should not have asked here about fixing your library problem. He was saying that if their is broken behavior in Kodi and someone wanted to advocate for a fix, then this is the wrong place for that discussion as it is not OSMC code and we have no control over it.
