nano .kodi/userdata/keymaps/gen.xml
and edit it directly.
I personally have the samba server installed and I just open Windows explorer and type \\ip.of.my.pi in the address bar and browse to \\ip.of.my.pi\osmc\.kodi\userdata\keymaps\ and then just edit gen.xml in Windows (you can use any text or xml editor you want). Just remember to reboot your device after saving your changes to get the updated keymap loaded.
