I can reproduce it here with one recording I have. Others play well. I’m looking into it …
I will push a build later today which fixes this.
This issue should now be solved. Please try checking for updates again.
Thanks
Sam
Thanks, all good now.
Thank you for confirming.
ok, the seeking is fixed, but here’s another odd one: if I try to access a live view of an in-progress recording, when I select the option “switch to channel” I get a blank screen as follows, with perfect audio and no video at all. This screenshot was taken in-play with audio working.
It looks as though automatic right-eye-first detection isn’t working correctly on 3D files.
I’ve also been having trouble with 3D-subtitle-depth on Pacific Rim today. 3D subs seem to be working okay one on one or two other 3D test-clips, so it could be that this is just a bad rip (or even that the disc wasn’t encoded correctly in the first place) but maybe someone could take a look and make sure?
I’ve attempted to upload two clips here: https://we.tl/t-Xey5Dl2Wmq (The Life of Pi clip is right-eye-first).
Paging @tanio99 as he often has an interest in 3D stuff.
Is this the same Life of Pi clip which you gave me a couple of years ago? If yes, then I have it somewhere. Will take a look.
Very probably.
I have a workaround for this issue. If I go to the recording settings in TVHE server, and change the DVR “stream profile” from “pass” to “matroska”, then I can watch the live view of an in-progress recording. Don’t know if that means a bug in TVHE server or OSMC, but at least it works now.
@angry.sardine, I had a look at the samples. The Life of Pi sample is indeed the same and that one plays fine here, I can’t see any problem with right/left eye first detection here. Maybe you can post some logs?
The Pacific Rim sample is using subtitle plane #8 for the selected subtitle track. This plane has negative values in it, so the subtitles are moved into the background. Maybe you can give other subtitle tracks a try and see if the depth values are ok? Planes 0 - 7 and 9 have positive values, and planes > 9 are neutral. The subtitle plane per subtitle track is logged in the Kodi log like e.g.
2022-08-18 14:53:57.119 T:3063 DEBUG <general>: AddStream - 3d subtitle plane = #8
2022-08-18 14:53:57.119 T:3063 DEBUG <general>: CDVDDemuxFFmpeg::AddStream ID: 3
Slightly weird cosmetic error, here. I’m playing a 3D movie and downloading some subtitles. When I get a list of possible subtitle files to download (from OpenSubtitles) and highlight the first one in the list, the text scrolls horizontally, because the file name is wider than the width of the list. The problem is that the perceived 3D depth of the scrolling text isn’t constant - it jumps forwards and backwards as it scrolls.
One for @Chillbo maybe?

That’s interesting. Right-eye first is correctly detected:
2022-08-18 16:13:24.013 T:2916 DEBUG <general>: StereoscopicsManager: autodetected stereo mode for movie mode block_rl is: hardware_based
but then it is switched to left-eye first:
2022-08-18 16:13:24.241 T:2925 DEBUG <general>: StereoscopicsManager: autodetected stereo mode for movie mode block_lr is: hardware_based
Just to be sure: did you check if you’ve accidently activated the ‘flip eye’ setting?

You’re right, I had. Sorry.
No problem ![]()
That would be a Kodi bug, I’m afraid. The skin controls of that dialog all have the same depth assigned.
i have a question… i read upper here this testing can be considered as stable and also we also an approximate ETA fixed at end of summer right?
if this thing it’s correct i have two questions…
it’s supported again the rpi2 device?
if i apply on my pi2 setup… and obtain some trouble (like some addons like youtube whit my huge usage or some other “on demand” addon) it’s not woks i can revert the procedure or it’s need to made this manually whit reflash the sd whit current stable image?
Pi 2 is supported. You will need to reflash if you want to downgrade. You could take a backup.
my workaround for the issue where the Vero running TVHE server cannot play the “live view” of an already-in-progress recording hasn’t worked. Changing the streaming profile from pass to matroska works on regular stereo, but this weekend playback of recordings of Match of the Day stall at the point where the pre-titles audo switches from stereo to 5.1. VLC can keep the video running but loses audio as well. I found some related discussion on the LE forum as long ago as Jan 2018.
For now I’ve had to switch back to the pass profile so that 5.1 audio content works, but that takes me back to square one in that the live view of in-progress recordings doesn’t work.
