@P.H, @tdoe, (would have tagged gmc here as well but am not allowed to): I can confirm that replacing the OSMC firmware with

• https://github.com/raspberrypi/firmware/blob/master/boot/start_x.elf?raw=true

and

• https://github.com/raspberrypi/firmware/blob/master/boot/fixup_x.dat?raw=true

fixes the CMMAL errors. Amazon VOD works with image and sound for every video I’ve tried so far.
