[TESTING] Kodi 18 (Leia) builds for Raspberry Pi

guessing its coming pretty soon the whole retroplayer package

Slowly getting there with the game addons. Having some library issues which I"m sorting out. After around 4 hours of build time it fails with one of the game addons. Fix and repeat.

Start with one add-on and add one a day in each nightly. If it fails, no big deal.

Also remember that the Moonlight addon is pretty broken, so avoid for now

With the latest update, we get the new button called Games. Can someone explain me how it will works? Do I need to install Rom Collection Browser or Kodi will do it without that add-on? I’ll specify a shared folders that contains my roms? Separated in console folder?

Thanks

Under Addons / My addons / Gamr addons you need to enable the emulators/games/controllers. You can then setup a new source and browse to your roms collection.

Do I need the Rom Collection Browser? I’ve enabled two controller profile (NES and SNES) but cannot see the rom which I have separated by console folder

well there are more emulators coming like libretro.nestopia etc so it might be worth holding off for the moment until gmc has compiled em all for OSMC and im sure that instructions will popup on the kodi wiki on how to load games.

this is all pretty new so just bear with us

edit: http://kodi.wiki/view/games

Still finding my way around it all as well.
You need to enable the specific emulator that will allow you to play the extension of file you have. Once you have done that you can browse to the file and load it.

I’ve did a quick test on the Atari emulator and managed to load up a game.

Once the different emulator are activated, it will see the right roms files?

Ok, by leaving them in zip, I can see the files. But when I click them, they doesn’t load

check retropie project for how to use the system

it also uses libretro as base since this is all new to us all  else you can seek support on kodi forums from Garbear the developer of retroplayer.

http://forum.kodi.tv/forumdisplay.php?fid=194

Yes I know. Beware though, it’s RetroPlayer and not RetroPie. Just writing here my findings to help all of you since it’s pretty new.

a suggestion it might get cluttered in this thread if we do that so it might be a better idea to open up a separate thread for that

Not a bad idea. To help, I’ve started a post on Kodi Emulator on OSMC Kodi 18

Ok, you also need to go into Addons, My addons, Games, Emulator et enable the emulator you want to use.

That’s what I said earlier
