“display manager”? I doubt that this happen with an upgrade. Did you install any other applications?
Anyhow as you are doing a fresh install just ensure you first do an upgrade (current image is from November) before you add applications.
Well this was the only thing that caught my eye reading the logs, I might be missing something. No, there was nothing else done at the same time, that could have broken the OS. I had two apps from app store - transmission and samba. I figured that I better do the upgrade first, before configuring anything else, to avoid samba popup again
