Currently using Vero4k.
Just to close this off for anyone else who’s interested. After several weeks using the same buffering settings on the Vero4K as the previous R.Pi 3B+ (and 3B before it, and 2 before that, and etc. …you get the idea) the Vero4K works fine on my gigabit cabled network where the R.Pi didn’t. On this basis I’m abandoning R.Pi and moving on to Vero4K for all my media centre needs. I appreciate the hobbyist element of using the R.Pi however my primary aim is family content consumption, so I’m just going to use what works. Thanks for everyone’s help and input in this category, and I’ll see you in the Vero4k forum.
