@ angry.sardine I copied every single setting.
But for some reason it’s still not functioning correctly.
When I enable “ask for video quality”, the maximum setting still is 1080p, despite being in the 4kHDR channel to test things.
Changing settings at mpeg-dash to adaptive or 2160p don’t make any difference.
My YouTube app is up to date, however my Kodi is still at 17.6
I don’t plan on updating anytime soon because I don’t want to start over with Hyperion
This is likely your problem.
With Kodi v19 I finally get 4K hdr in the YouTube add on but it is ultra slow - has anyone experienced the same issue?
The video starts but the goes back to buffering for at least a minute.
Fluid playback isn’t possible atm…
Please don’t resurrect a two year old thread… Short answer is: it’s a YouTube addon issue that is being looked into by the devs (https://github.com/anxdpanic/plugin.video.youtube/issues/163)
I have the same problem, the bug that @Chillbo described is not the same and anyway I have the version where they say its fixed 6.8.18
I have enabled HDR and that works, 4k and everything, did minimum 10,000,000 and ignore resolution. Is there anything else I can do? How to troubleshoot this?
Do you have Settings>Player>Videos>Adjust display refresh rate> On start/stop
configured?
Also I have youtube configured to ask me which resolution to use that makes troubleshooting also easier.
Thanks @fzinken I enabled On start/stop and set the ask on resolution. It seems the problem is not with HDR or even 2160p. Even on 360p I get severe video slowdowns to the point where audio and video are totally out of sync and video is unwatchable.
Thats odd, I played a 4k video yesterday without issue. While I am on the OSMC development repository but not sure if that would impact this topic.
When I enable sync audio and video to display resolution, I get video running with no weird slowdowns, except on 4k HDR, it still crappy slow there. but the audio is still hopelessly out of sync of even stops completely for long periods of time
I have issues with any Youtube video, basically. No problem with other videos, even very high quality 4k HDR 10p like LOTR remastered editions. Something is wrong, maybe I check logs? Please, check messages https://paste.osmc.tv/avedahivas and logs from grab-logs -J -K -z -I : https://paste.osmc.tv/ihuxohovur
-A does not work as kodi logs are too big.
Reboot twice before attempting to create logs.
Sync playback to display should not be enabled.
I did upload all logs this time, I will open a new topic
