4k 60fps on Vero V

Hi all, we’ve had a Vero V box for a little while but tonight is first time I’ve plugged into 4k TV.

The TV is switching to 4k successfully for 24fps video but on some test videos I notice it is not switching to 4k. These test videos are 60fps.

From the logs is looks like it adjusts the TV to 1080p. The TV is a Samsung TV.

Is this a limitation of Vero V or something else?

It will switch to 1080p60Hz if it thinks your TV doesn’t support 4k60Hz. This could be because:

  • you are playing through an AVR that doesn’t support 4k60Hz (ie HDMI 2.0)
  • you have excluded 4k60Hz from a whitelist
  • the EDID doesn’t include 600MHz TMDS clock for some other reason

If you post a log we can check it out.

Thanks for looking into it. For info the Vero V is connected direct to Samsung TV.

OK. Nothing wrong with your TV. But that log doesn’t show you attempting to play a 4k60 video. Can you try that, but turn on debug logging first?
