So, in hanewin my share for my 4K folder is;
e:\movies\ultrahd -public -name:UltraHD
so it becomes e:\movies\ultrahd -name:UltraHD
Is that correct?
So what would I enter into sudo nano /etc/auto.smb.shares?
Sorry to be a pain, this really is another level for me

This is my current showmount. Ignore the /HD entry, I will edit that later if this is successful
Export list for 192.168.0.2:
/HD -public
/UltraHD (everyone)

Sorry for delay in response, anyway I think you’ve worked out /etc/auto.smb.shares shouldn’t need any modification.
Has using autofs helped with the buffering at all?

Well I have just watched the first fifteen minutes of Ready Player One and its flawless so far. This was my main testing film as it would stutter/buffer the worst.
