Accessing the KODI SQL database?

I’d like to create a table of contents for my Movie content. I’m experienced in SQL from working on my other Raspberry Pi units. Is there a way to access the KODI SQL database to extract data?

I’m unsure but I think sqlite3 is installed by default, else you have to install it. Run this commands and you get a list(only valid in kodi 18.x): sqlite3 ./.kodi/userdata/Database/MyVideos116.db "select c00, c14, c16 from movie_view where 1;" > movielist.txt This will give you a list, with LocalMovieName, Genre, OriginalTitle If you want to decode the c00 or other magic in you libary here is a referens page: KodiDB and here is for the movie_view PS. @fzinken I started this thread 5 years ago when I installed OSMC on a RPi 3B. Today I installed it on a RPi4 with the current version ( November 2025 / Kodi 21.3). My SQLite notes from 2021 for the RPI3 do not work for the new install. Can someone get me a command for showing tables and then columns within table? Thanks…RDK

Solution is still the same just that the database version (in the filename) has changed. You can find current version either in your log files or you check it with the ls command
