As Vero is the professional version of osmc, it would be nice that it will be an official licenced airplay reciever. are there any plans on that?
Not at this time. The pricing is not the issue, but rather the fact that OSMC would likely need to clobber together components that are not open-source. To embed it tightly in to Kodi would likely result in a GPL violation
Ok - accepted, but what about delivring it aside (as addon/module). Nvidia for exampe delivers binary modules for the linux kernel beside open source drivers. so gpl is not violated
The problem is that we would link against this module. This would be a GPL violation. Nvidia modules are dynamically loaded (not a GPL violation)
