All 5.1 DTS-HDMA gets passed-through as 7.1

I reported this a few months back, like you I noticed that the Kodi skin can mis-report the number of channels with DTS files, although my receiver indicates that the correct channel layout is being received, which is the main thing. Have not yet had chance to see if this is fixed in Kodi 18.

Another channel layout glitch

Here’s an odd one. I use pass-through audio on everything to my Marantz receiver. I’ve noticed that if I pull up the Kodi playback info on DTS-MA 5.1 files, the playback stats report 7.1 channels. The actual channel layout provided to the receiver is however correct. Here is a screenshot - the file being played is absolutely 5.1 (see the receiver’s audio stats overlay which confirms it is receiving 5.1), yet we can see the reported channel config in the Kodi info is 7.1.
