Hi all,
I need some help from you all. I really want to install OSMC on my raspberry pi 3, but when i use the installer, there is this error everytime. I checked the logfiles and it says
"Error opening device"
I use ubuntu, and I don’t have any other computer.
Can someone help me ?
Thank in advance
Which version of Ubuntu?
Check write-protect switch
Check /home/yourname/osmc-installer.log (don’t remember if that’s the exact name)

Here is the complete log file.
I’m on elementary OS (compiled from ubuntu 14.04) and I already checked the switcher.
Thank for this quick answer!
Maybe automounter has mounted it and we can’t get a handle on the device? Sometimes the File Manager will open and lock the device.
Try sudo umount /dev/sdb1 before running the installer.

What sdcard? > 32gb? Does your card reader support sdxc?
Nope, it’s only a 8gb.
I don’t know, is there any way i can check it ?
I’m at work now, i’ll be able to do this in a couple hours only.
If its only 8gb, it’s not sdxc and probably has no compatibility issues with your reader.
