After downloading Aerials plugin it works in 1080p, very stuttery on 4k (probably bandwidth but not 100% certain).
However, in the settings there is the option for local folders only, you then select a download folder. However, when you do this it still gives an error “you must select a download folder”. Even though I have selected Pictures/Aerial in the settings.
Furthermore, I uploaded one of the MacOS aerial backgrounds directly from my computer to this folder, set the settings to “local only” but it gives a no files downloaded error. Despite there being one in this folder.
Not 100% sure what the deal is. Has anyone managed to get it to work? It seems like an excellent way to prevent burn in of UI elements.
I am a new user of Aerial after seeing in mentioned in a thread a few weeks ago, although I can’t help you with the “no files downloaded” issue (I just download the images via the command straight into a NFS share) I can hopefully get you going with local folders.
I found that you have to set the folder in the add-on (i would imagine some external storage or network share would be best for most people as the .mov files are large) and then press the ‘OK’ button to confirm this, which exits the add-on. When you go back into the Aerial you can now use this folder to download to.
