Apple TV 1st gen lags & skips on 1080p video

Dear users, please help:

I recently bought a brand-new 1st gen Apple TV and put in a BCM970015. I installed Kodi on it.

Playing 1080p video is a problem— video is 3 seconds behind the audio, and the frame rate of the video is very slow and skips.

Please help. I don’t know what to do.
Do I need Crystal HD drivers for Apple TV? Where do I get them? How do I install them?

Thanks a lot.

You need to use an older version to benefit from hardware acceleration

Thank you Sam & Darwindesign. I understand now that only the oldest version provides CrystalHD acceleration. I installed it to Apple TV. Now I have another question about playback quality while Crystal HD is enabled.
When I try to play full quality (40-50GB) 1080p Blu-Rays images & .m2ts files on my Apple TV 1 gen, the playback is in slow motion, sometimes freezes and crashes Apple TV… When I compress the same movies to half the size (approx. 25GB), they play without any problems.

Is it a defect in the CrystalHD card, or is this normal and expected not to play full bitrate Blu-Ray movies on Apple TV 1st gen?

Thanks

There are a number of possible reasons.

The 70015 will perform better than the 70012.

Right. I have the 70015.
The slow motion issue is not extreme but definitely noticeable
I’m using external USB 3 hard drive for movie storage.

It’s likely to be a limitation of the hardware.
