Audio Problem

Hello everyone,

I have a problem with the audio output.

Hardware: Raspi4 with Argon One case, configured according to these instructions (ArgonOne Fan / Power Control).
Jie Li mini soundbar (USB audio)
OSMC latest

My video library (different file formats) is located on an openmediavault server (latest).

When playing video, the audio output depends on the video file format:
*.mp4, *.flv and *.webm work fine.
*.mkv, *avi shows the video without errors, but audio only produces loud “crackling”.

Do any codecs need to be loaded?
Any other ideas?
Thanks, Dremus

Perhaps I should add:
I have installed usb-utils and alsa-utils.

To get a better understanding of the problem you are experiencing we need more information from you. The best way to get this information is for you to upload logs that demonstrate your problem. You can learn more about how to submit a useful support request here.

Depending on the used skin you have to set the settings-level to standard or higher, in summary:

  • enable debug logging at settings->system->logging

  • reboot the OSMC device twice(!)

  • reproduce the issue

  • upload the log set (all configs and logs!) either using the Log Uploader method within the My OSMC menu in the GUI or the ssh method invoking command grab-logs -A

  • publish the provided URL from the log set upload, here

Thanks for your understanding. We hope that we can help you get up and running again shortly.

Sorry, I needed some time …

I had copied the configuration for Kodi from my desktop PC.

I deleted some of the log files and marked them with an ellipsis […].

Hi,

Have you tried disabling passthrough for audio?

Regards Tom.

Thank you.

That solves my audio problem.
