Hi. I have a WD Red drive in an external enclosure connected to a raspberry pi 5. The drive is mounted via fstab and shared over network via nfs.
Vero is accessing this drive via autofs. All been working perfectly for ages, but recently I’ve noticed that sometimes, any Dolby Vision file won’t play.
I just see a black screen. If I press stop and try an HDR10 file, it plays without issue. Gone through several films in my library and the issue seems specifically related to DV files.
While this issue is happening on Vero, I’ve tested on an ugoos (connected to an old hd tv) and these DV files play without issue over the same nfs share.
My TV (Sony A95L) recently received a firmware update, so not ruling this out as the potential cause, but would appreciate if you could take a look at the logs and see if anything stands out.
Log will show me playing lord of the rings (DV) which just shows a black screen, then playing The Lost Boys (HDR10) straight after, which plays without issue.
Ps. I can get these same DV files to play properly with Vero eventually, but not sure how. Rebooting both Vero and pi doesn’t fix the issue immediately, but eventually seems to start working again.
Also, I have the nvme drive running rpi os (which also has some media saved on it) mounted same way as above, and again, at times, only DV files refuse to play.
No issues accessing shares via file manager at any point. Thanks
