Hi,
I may have missed something, but I cannot find a solution to the fact that my newly bought Rasp.Pi4B does not automatically mount the disks I previously had on my Pi3.
I cannot figure out why that is. On Libreelec they say you have to load NTFS Tools, but I wonder if there is a difference in hardware, why that cannot be solved with inbuild software in OSMC or Libreelec.
Can anyone direct me to the what andwhy of this issue and how to get is solved, so OSMC will work effortlessly and reliablty on Pi4/Pi5 like it did on Pi3?
Thanks in advance.
First upload logs via MyOSMC log Uploader and share the URL then we might see what’s going on.
secondly is it Harddisk or SSD? Is it getting enough power?
Hi.
I have to withdraw my “complaint”, shame on me. Since installation of OSMC on my Pi4 did not go as expected, with a low resolution installation screen and ending in a black screen, which did not occur when installing LibreElec, I concluded something strange must be going on with OSMC.
Letting all of this sink in I thought: maybe it is because of the screen I am using in my test setup, which is not Full HD. So I moved to my living room, where the defintive installation would go and connected my Pi4 with the OSMC installation card. Installation worked flawlessly and fast and all disks were mounted and visible. Oops!
Mea Maxima Culpa, I should say. Again compared to the other solution (which name we will not mention antmore) OSMC again proved to be the better product. Maybe I missed the warning to have a Full HD screen when using it, which in this point of time may be superfluous, but as you can see: some people still have them
So to all of you hardworking developers at OSMC: my sincere apologies for using up your valuable time with this non-issue.
Hi!
It appears I am not quite there yet. OSMC on the Pi4 works ok, disks mounted, but they are bot shared on my network. At first OSMC was not visible at all on my network, but I managed to fix that, but when I try to get its shares I cannot get access.
Any suggestions?
Hi, thanks for again a swift reaction. To answer your questions:
I share them with my (Win10) PC and (Android) tablet in my network
Not sure, fiddled with the configutation files from my other RPi
Oops. No, I sudo apt installed it.
So I just uninstalled it and got Samba from the Appstore (forgot all about that)
Result: now it works like before. Thanks and sorry again!
Although now, besides my drives and the osmc home directory also the directory ‘boot’ is visible. I suppose that is not without danger. Is there a way to remove that from the list?
