A small settings backup will be available in OSMC Updates in the near future. You can choose what UserData to backup, where to backup to (including network locations), how many backups to keep, it allows you to restore only specific files from the backup, and either overwrite the existing file on restore or copy to a new location.
The Backups addon is a little more comprehensive (backup to dropbox for instance), but the OSMC backup can be scheduled to run as part of the Update check. Handy for taking a snapshot of settings before an update.
