Background image oddity?

I had a whim to try a different background, so loaded some jpegs from my collection and tried setting them with the default OSMC skin.
I’ve tried with both RPI2B+ and vero1, and end with my image displayed with an overcast of a sort of blue - not what I expected.
Have I missed something?

Check this thread, my assumption is in the latest version should be fine but maybe it was not included.

How to replace background

Now my time is freeing up a little, it’s possible using the git version of the skin (found here - extract it to Kodi’s standard add-on directory and it should be used instead of the included version after a reboot or - if that doesn’t make any sense to you - wait until I have time to finalise all the needed and upcoming changes, which hopefully will be in the next monthly update :)) If you do use this test version, there’s a new option in Skin Settings > Background to disable the default OSMC b…

I had to revert this if I remember correctly as it caused problems. There seemed to be no overlay at all and a white screen

If I understand this correctly, there’s no point in selecting a custom background in skin config, as there will always be this blue cast (until some changes are made)

Yes – the commit that introduced some more options (including getting rid of this) seems to be troublesome at the moment.
