I connected the Vero 4k to the HDMI-in of the Oppo UDP-203, the Oppo ist connected directly to the Sony KD 65-A1. I noticed huge differences in quality between 4k, 1080p and 720p mkv files so I’m wondering what display output settings I should use with the Vero 4k.
For example: when I choose 1920x1080p @60Hz the quality of 1080p mkv files a are lot better instead of using 3840x2160. Does the Vero 4k an upscaling if I choose the 4k output format?
I tried also to connect the Vero 4k directly to the Sony, the quality differences are the same
You should leave the (GUI) resolution at 1080p. Which means Vero4k will upscale all files to 1080p and for files with higher resolution will sent it with the higher resolution. Means your receiving devices will do the upscaling from 1080p to the Panel resolution which the device can do better than the Vero4k.
thanks for your information! I’ll try the 1080p resolution and also 720p because I have also a lot of 720p mkv files on my NAS.
Ok thats an option while the upscaling from 720p to 1080p of Kodi is not that bad and the GUI definitely looks better at 1080p
